Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.
Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis.
Volunteer Van Driver
We are looking for a person to drive our van and to help with picking up donations from our collection points and dropping off food to our centres
We are looking for the following:
- aged over 21 , and held a driving licence for more than 5 years
- a clean driving licence – we will need to see this
- fit and healthy and able to lift crates of food
- available on either Mondays or Wednesdays, or both days
We are fortunate to have a van that we use for food pickups and deliveries across the borough. The van is out and about at least two days a week, Mondays and Wednesdays, and is used all day. We are looking for a driver to be available on either, or both, of these days to fit into our drivers rota
There will always be a drivers mate in the van with you to help with navigation around the borough and to assist with lifting crates and boxes.
You will be required to complete a Volunteer Form, to sign a Confidentiality Form and to undergo a brief induction in the van.
