Foodbank vouchers
Our foodbank works using a voucher referral system. Find out more about how we work.
Our foodbank operates through a voucher referral system, helping ensure people receive the most appropriate support for their circumstances.
We understand that anyone can face a crisis for many different reasons. To provide the right help, we work closely with local support agencies. If an agency identifies that you are struggling to afford food, they can issue a foodbank voucher. They may also be able to offer longer-term support to help address the underlying issues contributing to your situation.
We work with a range of local organisations, including Thurrock Citizens Advice, healthcare providers, community groups, and charities across Thurrock. To find out which organisations can issue vouchers and how to access support, please contact one of our Walk-In Voucher Givers or get in touch with us directly.
When you visit a referral agency, they will ask for some basic information to complete your voucher. This helps them understand your circumstances, provide relevant advice and support, and enables us to prepare the right amount of emergency food for you and your household.
Once you have received a voucher, you can exchange it at your nearest foodbank centre for at least three days’ worth of emergency food.
If you are a referral agency and would like to become a registered voucher holder, please contact us to find out more.
